Clashes broke out in Hajin area of Bandipora district on Tuesday after scores of students of Government Higher Secondary School Hajin staged pro-freedom and anti-India protests.

Reports said that as soon as deployment reached near Higher Secondary Hajin it angered the students, who took out a protest rally outside the school and pelted stones on forces.

The forces retaliated triggering clashes between protesting students and forces in the area.

Forces fired scores of tear smoke shells on students, reports said adding many students sustained injuries during clashes near Main bus stand Hajin.

The girl students of Govt higher secondary school Hajin also took a massive protest rally shouting pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. They also demanded release of the arrested youth.

Meanwhile, clashes between protesting students and forces erupted in Pattan area of Baramulla district on Tuesday, reports said.

They said that forces fired tear smoke shells on protesting students of the government higher secondary school who took out a demonstration and marched up-to main market.

As soon as the students raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans reached the market, police and other forces fired tear smoke canisters on them triggering clashes.

Reports added that the protesting students pelted stones on forces resulting in chaos in the area.

Student community in Kashmir is holding protests since April 17 after at least 60 college students were injured in force’s action in Pulwama on April 15.
