Locals in border town of Uri early Saturday staged protest against what they call ‘disappearance’ of a local man in New Delhi since October 22.

The protesters said that a man, identified as Kifayat Khan s/o Muhammad Sidiq Khan, r/o Rampur, Uri, left Sopore Fruit Mandi on October 19 in his own truck (JK05D – 7103) laden with apples.

“Kifayat reached Azadpur Mandi on October 22 and had went somewhere in the evening to get some essentials but did not return since then,” Naseer Khan, brother of Kifayat told Kashmir Life.

The protesters have blocked Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway near Rampur area.

They alleged that the Kashmir police have not helped family in tracing 25 years old Kifayat.

“We went Delhi only next day when Kifayat went missing but Delhi police did not help us,” Naseer added.
