Since early Wednesday morning Kashmir witnessed sudden downpour which according to metrological department were triggered by the western winds. The officials added that the weather is going to remain wet throughout the day.

“There was no prediction of rainfall as such. This sudden spell of rainfall is because of unexpected Western disturbances,” said Sonum Lotus, director metrological department, Srinagar. “The weather will improve from tomorrow morning.”

According to reports upper reaches of Shopian district witnessed heavy hailstorm.

The minimum temperature in Srinagar was 11.8 degree celsius – which is 6 degrees above normal at this time of the year.
