Srinagar: A man was arrested by Islamabad police on Saturday after he allegedly killed his wife. The attack was reportedly carried out in a fit of rage in Kanalwan area of Bejbehara, reports said.
The accused was identified as Bilal Ahmad Sofi, son of Muhammad Ashraf Sofi, resident of Kanalwan.
Reports alleged that Bilal had a domestic dispute with his wife Sumi Jan (24), daughter of Ghulam Muhammad Bhat and they use to fight on every alternate day.
Bilal had beaten his wife Sumi Jan, in one such battle, that let her get injured. Sumi was later shifted to the District hospital islamabad where she succumbed to her injuries.
SHO islamabad Ayaz Gilani while told Kashmir Life that the accused was arrested and a case under FIR 20/2017 under 302 RPC was registered against him. He said that the investigation has been taken up and they have conducted the post-mortem of lady while the body was later handed over to their family.
