Kashmir’s most respected sociologist and researcher, Prof Bashir Ahmad Dabla, who fought Parkinson’s disease for years is no more.
He was reported to have lost battle of life this evening. According to family sources, his Nimaz-e-Jinazah would be offered at 9pm this evening.
Over the years, Prof Dabla emerged as an authority over the social research in Kashmir. His was the most authentic voice on social issues. Despite his failing health, Dr Dabla continued his research and headed Kashmir University’s Sociology Department for many years. The major areas of his research were socially deprived and conflict hit people.
