Few days after he tweeted “everything is fair in love and war”, BJP’s point man in Kashmir and national general secretary Ram Madhav Saturday negated claims of holding talks with separatists in Kashmir.
The development is seen as significant as chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has recently in her twin meetings with party’s core group and legislators emphasized to have a dialogue and insisted on “humane approach” to be used while dealing with protesters.
Madhav who after Mehbooba met Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted to convey that “there is no rift between PDP & BJP and it was just a communication gap” said Saturday Centre wouldn’t hold talks with separatists whom he accuses of using “Valley as guinea pigs in their reprehensible politics of violence and separatism.”
“The separatists have only one motto: One dead body a day, so that they can play sentimental politics over the dead bodies,” he posted on social media and added “the security forces and the government on the other hand try their best to ensure that the ill-intentions of the separatists don’t succeed”
Commending the effort of government and government forces, Madhav who has co-authored Agenda of Alliance they are “executing a difficult job of mainlining peace in the Valley with a commendable effort.”
Regarding the use of controversial pellet guns which left Kashmir blinded, maimed and injured in 2016 protests, Madhab said “the armed forces had very few pellet guns and were used in rare situations only.”
“Even where used they are deemed less lethal than normal guns and bullets. Even there the forces are trained to maintain maximum restraint and use other methods to control violence,” he said.
In another significant development governor N N Vohra was summoned on Saturday to New Delhi to “discuss Kashmir situation”. Vohra, reports was scheduled to meet Home Minister Raj Nath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval, and later PM Modi. Opposition in state demand governor’s rule to be imposed.
Meanwhile BJP’s national president Amit Shah is on two days visit to valley where he has held deliberations with various state leaders of party.
The PPD insider late Saturday told Kashmir Life “there is uneasy calm as BJP is not showing any concern to give room for actually getting back on track.”
Earlier another right wing leader Pravin Togadia has urged BJP government is Delhi to “carpet bomb” Kashmir to stop militancy.
