Police used massive teargas shells to disperse the protesting students who kept retaliating by pelting stones. However, it was not known why the students had started protesting yet again today.

Eyewitnesses said that the clashes initially started in the premises of SP higher secondary school which is within the campus of SP college.

However, they later moved back inside the main SP college block.

Pertinently, the students of SP college and the adjoining Women’s College Srinagar are taking part in the semester exams.

Many students, according to eyewitnesses, were seen worried before the start of examination. They were looking for a way out to enter the examination halls inside the college campus, reports said.

Meanwhile, a faculty member of the SP college told Kashmir Life that the examination is going on smoothly in the college.

Latest reports pouring in from the spot said that a police official has received a stone in his head and he has been shifted to a hospital.

“SHO Kral Khud received a stone in his head and started bleeding. He has been shifted to a local hospital for treatment,” a camera person present at the spot told Kashmir Life.

Clashes were going on when this report was being filed.
