A week after anti-Kashmiri hoardings appeared on Delhi-Dehradun Highway in northern India, Police in Partapur area of  Meerut district arrested chief of a lesser known outfit Uttar Pradesh Nav Nirman Sena on Saturday for his alleged involvement in the case.

Talking to Kashmir Life over phone, a police official from Partapur Police station said that they arrested one Amit Jain associated with Uttar Pradesh Nav Nirman Sena in connection with the case.

He said that the arrested has been produced before the court. When asked to divulge details of the FIR registered in connection with the case, the police official refused saying he can not reveal the sections under which the case has been filed on phone.

The hoardings which were immediately removed by police said “Boycott the Kashmiris who throw stones at Indian Army. Kashmiris leave Uttar Pradesh or face consequences.”

Last week Home Minister Rajnath Singh asked all the states to ensure the safety of Kashmiri students studying in different colleges across India. In a tweet he had said that action should be taken against those who target Kashmiris.

His statement had come in the wake of attack on Kashmiri students in Rajasthan University and issue of anti-Kashmiri hoardings on roads.

Meanwhile Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with deepening political crises in Kashmir on Sunday evening in New Delhi.
