A lady whose condition remained critical after shot by army’s 9 RR in Qazigund yesterday succumbed to her injuries.
The deceased was identified as Nelofer Jaan, w/o Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh of Chowgam Qazigund. Nelofer’s 8-year-old son Aqib Fayaz was also left injured in the firing.
The lady was rushed to SKIMS after army opened fire on protesters in Churath in late Monday evening in which Showkat Ahmad (25) and Sadia Begum (45) were killed and 7 others—Noor Jehan, Basit Ahmad, Junaid Wani, Mohammad Abbas, Ishfaq Malik, Aqib Fayaz, and Munib Ahmad Shah—were left injured.
With the death of Nelofar Jaan, the death toll in ongoing Kashmir situation has jumped to 47.
