Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani while chairing  a review meeting on his visit to Police District Pulwama directed policemen to keep a constant eye on “mischievous elements who misguide gullible youth to violence and act tough on such miscreants.”

According to police spokesman, referring to the “apprehending of six boys of tender age in Shopian who were being taken by these elements for using them as canon fodder to recruit them in an terror outfit.” he emphasized that such elements need to be identified and tough action may be initiated against them.

Gillani according to spokesman also emphasized that potential targets of such elements need to be focused on and in cooperation with their parents proper counselling services should be provided.

Gillani further added that the attitude and behavior of the police at cutting edge level need to be refined so that the people could avail our services in a positive way.

Later the IGP addressed a Darbar with the officers and Jawans at District Police Lines, Pulwama. IGP  spokesman said gave a patient hearing to the problems and difficulties being faced by officers and jawans and accordingly on-spot instructions for their redressal were given. They were also assured that every genuine problem will be looked into.

While addressing the personnel in the Darbar, Gillani impressed upon them to work in people friendly manner in all circumstances while discharging their duties.
