An auto rickshaw was set ablaze in Southern Kashmir’s Islamabad district on Saturday evening.

Reports said that unknown persons hurled a petrol bomb on an auto rickshaw in Lal Chowk area of the district around 7:30 PM.

There were no injuries to the driver or the passenger, however, reports said. They said that passenger carrier was damaged.

Markets had opened in Islamabad district at 5 PM early this evening. Reports said that there was vibrant movement of people post relaxation in the shutdown by the united resistance leadership but the attack on the auto rickshaw created panic in the district headquarter.

Two more auto rickshaws were set ablaze in Srinagar a few days ago and government has decided to compensate the owners of the auto rickshaws.
