Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan Thursday visited district Bandipora and reviewed sector wise progress during an officers meeting.

DDC Bandipora, senior officers from various departments and senior citizens and public representatives were present in the meeting, an official spokesperson said this evening.

The Divisional Commissioner while reviewing physical and financial achievements of the sectors viz R&B, PHE, Irrigation, Rural Development, CA&PD, WUCMA, Forest, ICDS, Education, Health, Horticulture, Agriculture, Social Welfare and other sectors asked the officers to ensure attendance of employees including teachers in schools and other government offices so that the grievances of people are addressed.

He said that with the passage of time, pace of work on the developmental works should be accelerated so that these works are completed and more facilities are provided to people. The Divisional Commissioner stressed for implementation NRHM, Swachh Bharat Mission and other centrally sponsored schemes.

The public representatives on the occasion put forth their problems related to ration, power supply, drinking water, Sumbal Bandipora road, street lights etc before the Divisional Commissioner who while giving necessary directions to concerned officers asked the representatives to bring their minor issues into the notice of Deputy Commissioner whenever needed.

Seeking cooperation from the people, the Divisional Commissioner asked the representatives to ensure maintenance of peace in their areas so that the concerned officers can monitor development works and more facilities are kept available for the people.

Reviewing the stock position in Gurez, it was given out that 12929 quintals of rice, 4620 quintals of atta, 1923 quintals of sugar, 24000 litres of k-oil besides 480 K.Ltrs of High Speed Diesel for running DG sets have so far been dispatched to Gurez area.

Similarly, under MGNREGA, 332 developmental works against 804 taken up at a cost of Rs. 13.88 crore stand completed, creating 1.89 lakh man-days work in the district.

The total capex budget of Rs. 98.76 crore has been approved for 2016-17 against which Rs. 19.95 crore stand released upto last month. Of this, Rs. 10.67 crore have been utilised on various developmental works and welfare schemes in the district, the meeting was informed.
