In a surprise raid Samboora populace, forces injured at least fifteen civilians on Tuesday.

Local sources said that Army, CRPF and police raided the area in Pulwama district around 5:10PM today.

“People were in their fields busy with harvesting,” an eye witness said, “only elderly and children were home when forces came in almost 30 vehicles.”

The eye witness said that forces resorted to tear gas shelling and fired pellets as well as bullets.

“We were caught unawares,” a local said, “although, we saw vehicles entering the village but we never knew they will target us directly.”

While many civilians were injured being in their rice fields, forces started damaging their houses and other private property.

“Around 100 houses were damaged; TV sets, refrigerators, washing machines, kitchen ware and other things were completely damaged,” a local said. “The action of forces was completely unprovoked.”

A local who managed to take ten injured civilians to Pampore hospital said, “four others injured in pellet firing have been shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment.”

The locals said that forces released chilli gas in the village which has made breathing impossible for the elderly and the children.
