The District Development Commissioner Srinagar Dr Farooq Lone Tuesday chaired a meeting of officers to take stock of developmental activities being carried out in PHE and Irrigation sectors of District Srinagar under District and State plans like AIBP, NABARD, LIC, Flagship Programmes and other Mega Projects.
The District Development Commissioner got first hand appraisal of the activities sector-wise and scheme-wise, an official spokesperson said this evening.
He impressed upon the concerned officers to gear up their men and machinery to achieve the set targets in full in view of the fact that a considerable period of time of the current fiscal has already elapsed.
He also directed the concerned for conducting frequent visits to the sites, saying that it would help in achieving the set targets, besides ensure quality of work.
The Schemes which were reviewed during the meeting included Water Supply Scheme Tanghnar, Takenwari Khan Mohalla/Dar Mohlla, Water Supply Scheme, Mominabad Khanmooh Water Supply Scheme, Augmentation of Khimber water supply scheme, Chonchfaqir Lift Irrigation Scheme, Gooripora Eidgah Irrigation Scheme, Gundthal Maves Canal and Harwan Reservoir.
Reviewing the pace of dredging in Jehlum and desilting of flood spill channel, the District Development Commissioner impressed upon the engineers to continuously monitor the dredging works which has been entrusted to a private company.
The meeting was attended by the Superintending Engineer Hydraulics Circle Srinagar and concerned Executive Engineers.
