At least four persons have been arrested by J&K Police in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district during nocturnal raids.

Correspondent reports reaching here said that forces had raided Ashaji Pora area of Islamabad in the intervening night of August 27 and 28.

“Four persons have been arrested,” sources said. However, they did not immediately identify the detained persons.

Kashmir has been witnessing mass civil uprising since July 09, 2016, a day after popular militant commander Burhan Wani was killed by forces in Kokernag area of Islamabad. South Kashmir witnessed “mayhem” and majority of lives lost were reported from the four districts of the region.

“The forces came rushing, entering houses and harassing inmates and damaging property,” locals of Ashaji Pora alleged.

Reports said that that the nocturnal raids evoked protests by the locals early Sunday which eventually led to clashes between forces and the youths.
