Army on Saturday said that two of its men were killed by suspected militants.

Srinagar based defence spokesperson told Kashmir Life that an alleged infiltration bid was intercepted by army in Nowgam sector of North Kashmir’s Kupwara last night.

“Two of our men were killed and same number of militants died in the fight which ensued after we established contact with them,” the spokesperson said.

When asked about the identity of the slain army men, the spokesperson said, “the operation is going on and the identity of the all the slain bodies is yet to be ascertained.”

The operation started last night and four bodies were recovered this morning, army said.
