Violent clashes erupted in North Kashmir’s Baramulla on Thursday afternoon after youths raised anti-India and pro-freedom sloganeering amid complete shutdown.

Reports reaching here said that intense clashes are going on between protesters and forces near cement bridge Baramulla.

Two youth received injuries during the clashes, of which one was shifted to Srinagar for further treatment, reports said.

Meanwhile, a newspaper report said that two youths were critically injured in Sangam area of Islamabad today when one of them jumped into river Jhelum for saving himself from being apprehended by police and another was allegedly thrown from the bridge by police.

“The two youth, according to local sources were chased by the men in uniform in a private vehicle during which the incident took place,” the news report added.

Soon after the incident locals rescued the duo, however, found them critically injured. They have been shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment, the report said. The youth was identified as a resident of Yened, Pahalgam.
