The J&K Government has lifted curfew from South Kashmir’s Islamabad district around 3 PM.

Local correspondent reports said that the deployments which were made in view of law and order situation have been removed.

“There will be no deployment of forces till Wednesday morning,” a cop said.

Strict curfew was imposed in South Kashmir following mass uprising of people and killing of at least 52 civilians by forces. On Monday, authorities made additional deployment of forces to thwart Hurriyat Conference called Islamabad ‘Chalo’. However, people attempted to reach Lal Chowk but were banned which resulted in clashes.

“Yet there is no movement of civilians but forces have returned to their posts,” the reports said.
