Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam on July 24, 2016

Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK), a mass based Muslim Movement, organized a protest demonstration at Nellai Puliangudi, in Southern state of Tamil Nadu, on Sunday (24-7-2016) against the on-going bloodshed of innocent people in Kashmir.

They demanded Prime Minister Modi to take serious action for ensuring peace or resign from Government, a statement issued by the organization said on Monday.

Leader of TMMK Advocate Zainul Abideen led the protest demonstration.

Notably, several South Indian Parliamentarians have been very vocal about Kashmir in current session of Parliament.

Large number of people including office bearers of TMMK also participated in the protest and raised slogans against the BJP lead NDA Government, the statement said.

Pertinent to mention here that from last one week several protest demonstrations have been held across Tamil Nadu.

Tamils in Soladarity with Kashmir

Few days back, Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamath (TNTJ) organized a big demonstration at Chennai wherein thousands of Muslim women and men participated.

On Friday, Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam (DVK) organized a dharma at Chennai, Valluvar and Kottam, the statement added.

Many human rights activists and advocates participated and raised slogans against Indian army’s brutality and asked Indian government to withdraw the army from Kashmir.

“Not only Muslim organisations have been protesting against the innocent killings in Kashmir, but several other organisations have also participated in similar Dharna and protests,” the statement of TMMK said.

Many individuals, intellectuals, Advocates, human rights activist are showing their solidarity with Kashmiri people with placards in their hands and the pictures have gone viral Facebook and other social media spaces across South India, the statement added.
