Former deputy chief minister and senior Congress politician Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma died in Jammu on Thursday.
He was 88.
A veteran politician, Sharma was not keeping well for some time and breathed his last at his Ghandhi Nagar residence early today.
He served as MLA for 32 years and became Minister many a times and Dy Chief Minister in Mufti Mohammad Sayeed led PDP- Congress coalition in 2002.
Sharma is survived by six sons. One has joined Peoples Democratic Party and another one is in Congress. He was father of seven sons of whom one is reported to have committed suicide some years ago.
