Clashes erupted in Sozaith area of Narbal in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday.

Reports said that four youth were injured in the clashes in Sozaith that erupted after forces used teargas to disperse protesters. Protests had erupted in the area against alleged vandalism carried out by the forces.

Meanwhile, intense stone pelting was reported from Beerwah area of the district.

Reports added clashes broke out between youth and government forces in Preng area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday.

Witnesses said that after Friday prayers youth assembled outside Jamia Masjid at Preng in Kangan area and staged pro- freedom protests on Srinagar-Leh highway.

Police chased the protesters away but they regrouped and erected barricades on the highway.

They pelted stones on forces, triggering clashes.

A youth identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Dar of Lary Preng was detained by the forces after the clashes.
