Forces had to fire tear smoke shells to disperse hundreds of protesters who were raising anti-India and pro-freedom slogans soon after Friday prayers ended in Bandipora.
Local reports that people after offering congregational prayers assembled at main Chowk and started raising slogans.
However, the protesters pelted stones on forces as they approached near. The forces fired tear smoke shells against the protesters resulting in clashes.
Clashes were going on till reports last came in.
