J&K Government has authorities have prepared a list of 130 government employees to sack them from their services. These include some lecturers and doctors.

Sources told KNS that a list has been prepared and so far, government has issued orders of termination twelve employees.

These employees have been terminated on the allegations of “participating” in pro-freedom protests or “instigating” violence during the on-going uprising.

“Some high profile officials include lecturers and doctors are also in the list. The order for the termination of their services can be issued anytime,” said sources.

The authorities have also prepared a list of various government employees against whom the controversial Public Safety Act (PSA) would be invoked.

Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Wednesday said that government has violated principles of natural justice by issuing “arbitrary, unilateral and inhuman decision” to sack employees for their alleged participation in pro-freedom protests during the on-going uprising.

EJAC has called an emergency meeting on October 22, this year, to discuss and chalk out the future strategy over the matter.

In an unprecedented move, the J&K Government has sacked several employees who were accused by the J&K police’s intelligence wing—the Criminal Investigation Department—of spearheading or participating in protests during the on-going pro-freedom uprising in Kashmir.

Of these, 20 are from Education Department, three from Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department, two each from Revenue, Agriculture and Public Health Engineering Departments and, one each from Rural Development Department, Animal Husbandry, Accounts and Treasuries, Fisheries, Forest, Health and Fire and Emergency Services departments.
