Pro-freedom protests were held in many parts of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday afternoon, reports said.

Reports and eye witnesses said that a dozen persons were injured in clashes with men in uniform.

Clashes erupted in Koil, Tral, Newa Tahab, Nikas and Dalipora villages of the district after congregational Friday prayers.

Six persons each were injured in clashes in Tral and Tahab, reports added.

Pro-freedom protests were also held in Kareemabad and Kakapora area of Pulwama district and Shangus in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, reports coming from North Kashmir’s Kupwara said that normal life remained affected in the district today.

Reports said that peaceful protests were held in Trehgam, Magam, Kralgund and other areas.

Heavy contingents of forces were deployed at several places in Kupwara and other towns as well.
