Pakistan on Thursday said that pressure is mounting on India to allow United Nation Fact Finding mission to visit Kashmir.

“Despite India’s numerous desperate attempts to divert the world attention, the Int’l Community remains concerned about the India’s crimes against humanity,” said Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria during his weekly press conference at Islamabad today. “(and) pressure is mounting on India to allow ‘Fact Finding Mission’ to visit Kashmir. India remains in constant violation of UN Charter and Int’l Humanitarian Laws.”

Notably, United Nations Human Rights Commission twice asked India and Pakistan to give independent access to its teams to visit divided Kashmir. Pakistan welcomed it, however, Deli denied the permission.

Zakaria also referred to the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC which adopted a resolution on Kashmir and condemned atrocities on defenceless Kashmiris and sought implementation of UNSC resolutions on Kashmir.

He termed the response of international community a display of “double standards” since core issues remained unresolved despite lapse of decades without implementing relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

He also said that UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights has asked India to release the Human Rights activist Khurram Parvez from illegal detention immediately.

Kashmir is witnessing a civilian uprising triggered by the death of popular militant commander Burhan Wani on July 08, 2016. At least 94 civilians and other 15000 have been injured in forces action in last 104 days.

Responding to a question that Delhi was building nine dams in Ladakh region on Indus River, Zakaria said, “Pakistan is closely following the developments and will not accept any violation of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT). We will take appropriate action in line with the provisions of the Indus Waters Treaty, in case of any violation of IWT.”
