Jammu Kashmir Liberation front (JKLF) chief Muhammad Yasin Malik on Wednesday brought to Khyber Hospital for regular medical check-up, a JKLF press release said today.

Malik was jailed immediately after Burhan Wani was killed on July 08 this year. He is currently lodged in Srinagar’s central jail.

Following medical investigation, he was taken back to Srinagar central jail.

Reacting to Prime Minister Modi’s statement in which he compared Indian army with Israel’s army, Malik said, “by equating India with Israel, Indian Prime Minister has actually endorsed the fact that India like Israel is a repressive state that is using its military might to suppress the voices of masses in Jammu Kashmir.”

“Modi must realize the fact that oppression and military might can never succeed in breaking the will and valour of Kashmiri people,” he said.

The statement quoted Malik terming the remarks of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “shameful”. “This has actually exposed the brutal anti-democratic behaviour of India towards the people of Jammu Kashmir.”

On the arrest spree across Kashmir, he said, “the on-going crackdown against peaceful Kashmiris is a testimony to Mehbooba led regime’s anti-Kashmiri and brutal behaviour.”

“Nocturnal raids and use of black laws against peaceful Kashmiris especially young boys and youth,” Yasin Malik said, “whole of Kashmir, Pir Panjal and Chenab regions are witnessing a worst phase of state sponsored terrorism these days.”

The statement said that even in 1990s when armed struggle was on its peak and Kashmir was governed by a Governor from Delhi, crackdowns and arrests “of this magnitude were not seen”.

He said, “today more than ten thousand people in Kashmir, Pirpanjal and Chenab regions have been arrested, crackdown like that of 1990s are being held to arrest students, political activists, injured and pellet victims.” “Even lists of injured from hospital are being sought to arrest more and more youth.”

He said that recent crackdowns by army, CRPF and SOG in Baramulla, Pulwama, Kupwara and parts of Srinagar are few examples of this condemnable “highhandedness”.

“All these atrocities are being committed at the orders of so-called chief minister who in past used to shed crocodile tears on our martyrs, used to organize protest rallies against killings by forces and police and is  on daily basis propagating the philosophies of ‘talks not guns’, ‘battle of ideas’ and so on. On-going oppression has uncovered the double faced politics of these hypocrites and today their politics of deception stands exposed before the people of Jammu Kashmir,” he added.
