Protests erupted in Bandipora town Thursday after an army vehicle crushed an old lady to death.

Reports said that a speedy army vehicle crushed to death a lady.

Soon people resorted to anti army protests alleging army for not obeying the rules of the road.

“The protesters were cane charged,” reports said. Locals said that police resorted to tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters.

Meanwhile, police in a statement said that a lady died after she was hit by an Army vehicle near Police Station Bandipora. Police has registered a case in this regard and seized the vehicle. “The driver of the vehicle has also been arrested,” the statement added.

Police also identified the deceased lady as  Sooda Akhter daughter of Ghulam Hassan resident of Turkipora, Bandipora. Police statement said that a case has been registered under FIR no. 189/2014 in this regard.
