As the post poll scenario is giving tough time to political parties in Jammu and Kashmir to decide which way to go, what is worrisome for two regional parties is that there are reports of resentment within- National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on issues of aligning with Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP).

According to reports, diverting from his initial claim that ‘he won’t knock door of any body but will wait,” care taking Chief Minister and working president National Conference Omar Abdullah Thursday morning flew to Delhi and met BJP president Amit Shah, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and party general secretary Ram Madhav.

Though Ram Madhav denied the report and even Omar did not confirm the development. The NC’s leaders were later scheduled to meet in Srinagar. On issue of going with BJP, all leaders of NC are not on the same page.

NC’s MLA from Budgam and former minister Aga Syed Ruhullah told new Delhi based news channel that he has conveyed his strong opposition to the party leadership.

“People voted in large numbers to keep the BJP at bay. We can’t give backdoor entry to the BJP to form the government. The last thing the people want is a BJP Chief Minister,” Aga is quoted to have told the news channel.

If reports are to be believed, NC’s secretary general and MLA Ali Muhammad Sagar has also shown resentment over the possible alliance with BJP.

Besides NC, PDP even after getting 28 seats is in tight spot. As on counting day itself, the sources in PDP revealed that the party leaders are divided on the issue of going with BJP. Party’s senior leader and Member Parliament(MP) Muzaffar Hussain Beigh is quoted to have said, “BJP is not untouchable for PDP.” Though this comment of Beigh was not well received by other party leaders.

Pertinently within BJP hectic parleys are going on in forming the government. The party MLA’s according to finance minister Arun Jaitley have authorised central leadership to take the final call.
