Civilians in Sopore town on Friday staged a massive protest demonstration to protest against the commendation to an army officer who tied a Kashmiri civilian to his jeep.

Witnesses said that scores of youth assembled near Markazi Jamia Masjid area of Sopore and raised slogans against forces.
Police swung into action and used force to disperse the protesting civilians, reports said.
Meanwhile, the clashes have led to the shutting down of main market in the twon. “Shopkeepers lowered their shutters in Main Bazar area and the traffic movement got affected due to the clashes,” reports added.
