Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Thursday started two fresh Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EDP) in Rajouri and Doda districts of Jammu division.

107 unemployed youth including 34 women shall be trained for a period of next three weeks (EDPs) under Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS) in the two training programs.

The training program (EDP) at Doda was inaugurated by SDM Bhaderwah, Muhammad Anwar Banday in presence of BDO Bhaderwah, Tahir Malik and officials from JKEDI District Centre, Doda including Iqbal Ali and Mohsin Iqbal, a statement issued by EDI said this afternoon.

In Rajouri the training program was inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Avtar Singh Chib and top officials from the district administration and line departments.

Officials from JKEDI District Centre Rajouri including Aijaz Ahmad Mulla, Basit Khurshid, and Sayeem Rafiq were present on the occasion.

58 educated unemployed youth have registered for three-week EDP being held at ITI, Rajouri while as 49 candidates have registered for training program at Block Development Office, Bhaderwah in Doda district.

The candidates registered for EDPs shall be imparted entrepreneurship development training for next three weeks.

The three-week EDP is modelled for manufacturing, services and agri-allied sectors.

During the 21-day program in which subject matter specialists from various line departments are also invited to interact with the candidates. Two similar EDPs are also underway at Sunderbani and Kotranka blocks of district Rajouri.

Speaking on the occasion Chib appreciated the role of JKEDI and called upon youth to take proper advantage of various entrepreneurship development schemes so that problem of unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir can be addressed.
