Five persons were injured in two separate road accidents across the valley while three structures were gutted in fire, a police statement said Wednesday.

A Maxi Magic vehicle bearing registration number JK09A/2461 hit and injured a pedestrian Asifa daughter of Nazir Ahmed Ganie resident of Kachwari at Kachwari, Handwara. The injured was shifted to District Hospital, Handwara for treatment.

Meanwhile, a Maruti car bearing registration number JK09/2511 met with an accident on NHW near Nutnusa, Drugmulla Kupwara resulting in injuries to 04 persons. All the injured were shifted to Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, two residential houses and a shop, were damaged in three separate incidents across the valley.

Fire broke out in the joint residential house of Ghulam Hassan Thoker and Mohammad Amin Thoker both son of Sheer Mohammad Thoker and in the residential house of Shabir Ahmed Thoker son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Shappora Loher, Kokernag resulting in complete damage to both the houses.

Fire broke out in the residential house of Gulzar Ahmed Dar son of Abdul Khaliq Dar resident of Marwal Kakapora resulting in complete damage to the house. In the incident Gulzar Ahmed Dar received minor injuries.

In another incident, fire broke out in a shop belonging to Fayaz Ahmed Kangar resident of Bimdoora, Kokernag Anantnag, resulting in complete damage to the shop.

Fire was brought under control with the help of fire tenders and police, the statement said.
