Minister of Finance, Culture, Labour and Employment, Dr Haseeb Drabu Tuesday said the Government will explore possibilities to give priority to the power sector under the 14th Finance Commission award.
The Minister was responding to the supplementaries raised by legislators Ravindar Raina and M Y Tarigami , who sought special focus on power sector under 14th FC. The main question was raised by MLA Mohammad Abbas Wani seeking details of guidelines for the utilization of funds under 14th Finance Commission.
Dr Drabu said that under 14th Finance Commission funds have been provided under different heads -Post Devolution Revenue Deficit, Disaster Management, Local Body grants and share in central taxes.
The members also demanded for taking up the works under 14th FC after due consultation with the concerned MLAs.
