By Asma Firdous
Let the sun fade from the frame
Allow the dark to diffuse
Into the day-lit sky
Invite the stars to adore
Welcome the night.
Veiled by the glittering dark
Dreams flutter their fragile wings
A trance of freedom.
Someone within me rises.
Civilization blurred away
Laws trapped within the books
Bustle and jostle deafened…
I sing.
I sing a silent melody
Some vintage notes
Turned golden with time…
The burnt poem
A song of truth.
The stars twinkle…
Reflecting every rhyme
Of my wordless song
Gracefully the moon dances.
A night silently Aloud…
