On the insistence of MLA HomeShalibugh, Majid Larmi, the government Saturday informed the house that government will bear all costs of medical treatment of two Kashmiris who received burn injuries in Udhampur burning incident.

“I assure the Hon’rable member that government will bear all costs of medical treatment of the injured persons,” said the senior minister AR Veeri, on behalf of government.

Earlier, the last sitting of the assembly began on chaotic note after Majid Larmi informed the house that the Kashmir bound truck JK03D-1142 was intercepted by a gang of youth in Udhampur periphery and set afire last night.

Veeri said the police intervened almost immediately and rescued two people Showkat Ahmad and Zahid Ahmad – both with burn injuries. The third Rameez Ahmad, who was driving the truck, however, had escaped unhurt.

Veeri said the two injured were rushed to hospital in Udhampur and later driven to Jammu for specialized treatment. He said three accused identified as Bala Bahadur Singh, Sunder Singh and Sunil Singh were arrested and manhunt was launched to arrest other others.
