Two minor students were Wednesday admitted in a hospital in Handwara in Kupwara district after a teacher ‘ruthlessly’ beat them in a government school.

According to KNS, two students, Altaf Ahmad Mir and Basit Ahmad Dar, both in class 7th, of Government School Makal, Mawar, in Langate area of Kupwara district were beaten by the teacher, Irshad Ahmad, in the school.

Doctors in Handwara sub district hospital said that the two students have injuries, one in abdomen and the other in chest.

“We have admitted the students with injuries. They have blunt trauma and bruises. They are being treated in the hospital and are stable,” Dr Abdul Rouf, medical Superintendent of Handwara Sub District hospital said.

The parents of the injured students have asked the government to take action against the “brutal” teacher.

Chief Education Officer Kupwara Farooq Ahmad Dar said that he will take action against the teacher.

“The teacher will be put under suspension and action as per rules will be taken against him,” Dar said.
