Army on Thursday said that two suspected militants were killed when forces came in contact with them early this morning.
Defence reports said that army at foiled an infiltration bid in Nowgam sector of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district this morning.
“Our forces established contact with militants this morning,” Srinagar based defence spokesperson told Kashmir Life.
“Two militants have been killed so far,” he added.
The spokesperson could not give more details about the “encounter”. “The operation is on,” he said.
