As six-month long summer darbar is resuming in Srinagar tomorrow, there are growing apprehensions of rising traffic mess in city.
But to meet the additional rush on roads, Traffic department maintains, “its men will be on toes”.
Already the traffic department, says Haseeb Ul Rehman SP traffic, has issued guidelines for streamlining the traffic on busy routes.
SP Rehman said that there will be one-way traffic on Residential road, rajbagh and other busy roads leading to city centre Lal Chowk.
“We have already issued traffic guidelines in city,” he said. “And our men will ensure strict implementation of the same.”
In a clear warning to violators, the top traffic cop said that nobody will be allowed to toy with traffic.
“Traffic department is already monitoring the activities of Sumo and other vehicles,” he said. “In coming days, we won’t allow some Sumos to enter city for the larger traffic welfare.”
Already to host the summer darbar, the city is being applied with fresh coat of paint.
So leave early tomorrow for work. Or else, regret in traffic trap!
