A tourist from Andhra Pradesh was found dead at the famous ski resort of Gulmarg, 55 KM from here, in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
Reports reaching here said the tourist was identified as Bajid Khan Pathan, 71, of Andhra Pradesh.
The body has been taken to Public Health Centre Gulmarg and police have initiated proceedings under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of his death.
Gulmarg is reeling under intense cold as night temperature plummeted below freezing point after the recent snowfall in the hill resort and other high altitude areas of the Valley.
The night temperature also hovers around zero degrees Celsius in the plains including Srinagar.
