SRINAGAR: Authorities have limited the movement of Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umer Farooq by keeping him under house arrest, media report said.
Mirwaiz who is part of the separatist triumvirate comprising Syed Ali Geelani and Mohammad Yasin Malik, had called for a two strike against the Saturday events. Reports said his aide Shaid ul Islam has also been restricted to his home. Reports said sizable number of cops have been deployed around Mirwaiz’s Nigeen mansion.
Interestingly, however, Malik has managed to reach Sabzar’s ancestral home during the day. He has made a speech as well. Seemingly, Malik is in the area.
Geelani is perpetually under house arrest. On Saturday, the deployments around his Hyderpora residence had incresaed with a mix of police and CRPF.
