Students during protest in Hyderabad against killings in Kashmir

With support of students from different parts of India, students of Jammu and Kashmir protested in University of Hyderabad against the “fake encounters, extra-judicial killings , draconian laws, mass rapes, enforced disappearances in Kashmir.

Organised by Hyderabad’s unit of Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA),the students around hundred in number also held a candle light vigil.

According to statement, speakers ranging from faculty members to research scholars highlighted the issue and “condemned the role of Indian State and Army in the recent killings of two Kashmiri youths in Tral and urged the Indian Media to shun the biased and subjective attitude and write truth about Kashmir.”

Urging students of other parts of India to see real picture of Kashmir, JKSA according to statement said that “violation of human rights in Kashmir has no parallel in the contemporary world.”3

Talking about the laws extended to Jammu and Kashmir, speakers according to statement said,”The lawless law(AFSPA) of the draconian Public ‘Safety’ Act has ruined and unsafe the lives of millions of Kashmiris.”
