SRINAGAR

The Jammu & Kashmir Institute of Mathematical Sciences (JKIMS) organized a two-day seminar on “Role of Mathematical Sciences in Developing Creative Thinking”. The seminar was inaugurated by Minister, R&B, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari. The function was held at JKIMS main campus Amar Singh College, Srinagar.

In his address, Altaf Bukhari stressed upon the need of keeping up with the changing times and trends. He said that, our goal and mission should be to create scientists and researchers for future. He also donated a vehicle for JKIMS. He further promised initiating process of allocating land for an independent JKIMS campus.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asgar Samoon appreciated the efforts of JKIMS in putting up an admirable show and wished that the institution excels in the way, it is envisioned to.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, Director School Education, Kashmir, Dr Shah Faesal, Principal Amar Singh College, Head of Department, Mathematics IUST, Prof. Mohammad Aslam Baba, Prof Raj Shree Dhar (Nodal Officer, Sub Office, JKIMS, Jammu) and Prof Assia Siddiqi (Nodal Officer, JKIMS) were present on the occasion, Besides Dr Wali Mohammad Shah, Principal GDC Pattan, Dr Yaseen Ahmad Shah Principal SP College, Dr NA Gilkar Controller Examination, Central University Kashmir and Dr Mohammad Ashraf Shah Dean Academics KU were also present in the seminar.
