Police that registered two different FIRs against five persons under section 120 B (Criminal Conspiracy), 124 A (Sedition) and 153 A (Promoting Religious Enmity) at Police Station Kishtwar and started its investigation was on Friday put on notice by Imam Jamia Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo who while addressing Friday congregation asked the government of Jammu and Kashmir, police and administration to immediately withdraw the FIRs registered against the five persons.

He warned that in case the administration and the police fail to withdraw the cases; he threatened that people will lodge protest.

He said that in case police made arrest of anyone whose name is mentioned in the FIR, they will issue a call for strike and protest as well.

Imam Jamia Masjid accused the government of India of using excessive force against the unarmed protestors in Kashmir post Burhan Wani killing. “The forces are using the pellet gun which is gross violation of human Rights. Government of India is following the Israeli policies to crush the on-going freedom struggle in Jammu and Kashmir. The people fight against the Indian occupation,” he said and asked the government of India to address the Kashmir issue and warned the government of India that it will face the same consequences like USSR.

It is pertinent to mention that police couple of days ago registered two different FIRs against five persons under section 120 B (Criminal Conspiracy), 124 A (Sedition) and 153 A (Promoting Religious Enmity) at Police Station Kishtwar.

As reported by Kashmir Life on 19-7-2016, one person namely Saif-ud-Baghwan son of Abdul Jabbar Baghwan resident of Baghwan Mohallah Kishtwar was booked in FIR No. 139 U/S 120 B/124 A/153 A of 2016 for raising provocative slogans, pro-freedom slogans and anti-India slogans.

As per the contents of the FIR, on July 10th 2016; Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo, separatist leader Molvi Abdul Qayoom Mattoo and Immam Bunastan Masjid Manzoor Ahmed Ganie made an announcement from the loudspeaker of Jamia Masjid Kishtwar calling for peaceful shutdown on 11-7-2016 against the killings of civilians in Kashmir uprising post militant commander Burhan Wani’s death in Kokernag Kashmir.

It added that the accused on the day when the Sarthal Devi Yatris reached at Bus Stand Kishtwar, the accused raised “provocative and anti-national” slogans with an “aim to provoke” the Yatris and thus make an “attempt” to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in this district.

In another FIR No 140/2016 registered U/S 120 B/124 A/153 A, the accused in FIR No. 139 Saif-ud-Din Baghwan along with co-accused named in FIR namely Javed Iqbal Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh, Imran Ali son of Mohammad Aslam Sheikh, Parvaiz Ahmed Sheikh son of Sana-ullah Sheikh, Tariq Hussain Gulla all residents of Sangrabata Kishtwar along with others on 15-7-2016 (Friday last) after seeing the vehicles of Sarthal Devi Yatris restored to pro-freedom, anti-national and provocative slogans thus hurting their sentiments.

In its communication to District Magistrate Kishtwar, SSP Kishtwar vide letter No CRB/2016/7891-93 Dated 14-7-2016 and CRB/2016/7907-09 Dated 15-7-2016 brought the matter into the notice of District Magistrate Kishtwar after SHO Police Station Kishtwar and I/C PP Kuleed about the activities of the accused persons and seeks the necessary directions from the Chair U/S 196 CrPC.

As per the communication from SSP Kishtwar, District Magistrate Kishtwar accorded permission to Kishtwar police for prosecution of the accused persons.
