1. Erasmus Mundus India4EU II Scholarships for Indian Students, 2013-2014

India4EU II provides scholarships for Indian students for the study of undergraduate, master, doctoral, postdoctoral and staff levels. India4EU II is an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 project is organized by the partnership of some of the most prestigious universities in Europe and India. European Commission funds this project.

Total 126 scholarships are available for Indian nationals to pursue studies at one of the European partner universities. The scholarships will cover subsistence allowances, travel costs, tuition/registration fees and insurance costs from 1 to 34 months depending on the level and type of mobility. The first call will close on February 18th 2013.

Eligibility:

– Not have resided nor have carried out your main activity (studies, work, etc) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in any of the eligible European countries at the time of submitting your application to the partnership.

– Not have already benefited from a scholarship for the same type of mobility under an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 project.

Scholarship Description:

India4EU II is an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 project funded by the European Commission and organized by a Partnership of some of the most prestigious universities in Europe and India. The project builds on the success of India4EU. India4EU II provides scholarships to nationals of India to spend a mobility period in Europe on a wide variety of academic fields at different levels of study (Undergraduate, Master, Doctorate, Post-Doctorate and Staff).

The scholarships cover subsistence allowances, travel costs, tuition/registration fees and insurance costs. The project launched a call for a First Cohort of mobilities on 30th November 2012.

India4EU II provides scholarships for students, researchers and staff from India in order to study, do research, training or teaching at one of the European Universities of the Partnership.

Number of awards offered: 126 scholarships are available .

Duration of award(s):

Scholarship durations are from 1 to 34 months depending on the level and type of mobility.

What does it cover?

The scholarship includes a monthly subsistence allowance paid by the Partnership for the duration of the mobility period:

-Undergraduate – 1,000 euro

-Master- 1,000 euro

-Doctorate- 1,500 euro

-Post-doctorate- 1,800 euro

-Academic/Administrative Staff- 2,500 euro.

Included in the scholarship, the Partnership will also:

– pay for your travel costs (maximum 2,000 euro);

– provide you with a high quality individual insurance coverage on health, travel, accident for the duration of your mobility period;

– cover all university fees at the hosting universities.

-Participants at any level will not be required to pay any fees to the host universities. Exchange students will continue paying their fees at their university of origin.

2. Hinrich Global Trade Scholarships for Indian Students in Hong Kong

These scholarships are offered for pursuing one year master’s program in International Journalism on full time basis at Hong Kong Baptist University. These are fully funded scholarships which will cover tuition fees and other related expenses. To be eligible for the scholarships applicants must hold undergraduate degree in a relevant subject. The application will close on February 20, 2013.

Study Subject(s): Students will study International Journalism.

Course Level: This scholarship is available for pursuing master’s degree.

-Support for educational supplies and materials.

-Airfare for the scholars’ travel to Hong Kong and back to their country at the end of the program.

-All costs related to securing and maintaining a student visa for the duration of the scholarship.

3. The United Nations International Law Fellowship Programme in Netherlands, 2013

United Nations funded fellowship programme for the developing countries in the field of international law in Netherlands. The fellow has to spend six week at the Peace Palace in the Hague in Netherlands . The fellowship is conducted in English.

The International Law Fellowship Programme is for qualified persons, particularly mid-level government legal officers and young teachers of international law. Applicants from developing countries and countries with emerging economies can apply to deepen their knowledge of international law. The fellowship covers the airfare, medical, stipend, accommodation, training material etc.

Study Subject(s): The fellowship is provided to study International Law.

Course Level: This fellowship is available for pursuing six-week summer programme.

Scholarship Provider: Codification Division of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs.

Scholarship can be taken at: Netherlands

Eligibility:

-To qualify for the fellowship, candidates should be between 24 and 40 years of age at the beginning of the Fellowship Programme.

-They should be law graduates with practical experience in the field of international law acquired by working for a public or private organization or a university. Candidates will have to certify that they are able to attend the entire Programme period.

-Candidates must be able to submit evidence of their ability to attend and participate in lectures and seminars conducted in English (e.g., diploma of courses conducted in English, language test certificate, extensive work experience in English).

Scholarship Description:

The International Law Fellowship Programme is designed to enable qualified persons, in particular, mid-level government legal officers and young teachers of international law from developing countries, and countries with emerging economies, to deepen their knowledge of international law.

Number of awards offered: The Programme accommodates up to 20 fellowships.

Duration of award(s): The Fellowship Programme consists of a six-week summer course at the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands.

What does it cover?

The Fellowship programme will cover the fellowship recipient’s travel costs in economy class, medical insurance, the training material and the registration fee for The Hague Academy of International Law. In accordance with policies and procedures governing the administration of United Nations fellowships, participants will receive a stipend to cover their living expenses. Accommodation will also be provided by the Fellowship Programme.

Selection Criteria: Fellows are selected on the basis of their qualifications, the needs of their respective countries and the potential benefits they may derive from the fellowship in their professional life.

4. 2013 Netherlands Fellowship Programme

Each year Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs funds Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) for the students of developing countries on NFP country list. These are fully funded fellowships which are awarded for the full duration of the course or programme in which the successful applicant has been selected. The fellowships are offered to pursue master’s and PhD programmes and also short courses at Dutch institutions in Netherlands. To eligible for this opportunity, firstly the applicants must apply for academic admission directly at the Dutch institution and then submit application online through Scholarships Online (SOL) before the fellowship application deadline.

Study Subject(s): The fellowship is available for different courses.

Course Level: The fellowship is available for pursuing master’s, PhD and short courses.

Scholarship Provider: Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation.

Eligibility:

A candidate applying for an NFP fellowship must be a professional with at least three years work experience;

Scholarship Description:

The Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) promote capacity building within organisations in 62 countries by providing training and education through fellowships for professionals. The NFP is initiated and fully funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation. The overall aim of the NFP is to help increase both the number and the competencies of skilled staff at a wide range of governmental and non-governmental organisations.

Duration of award(s):

The fellowship is only intended for the duration of the course or programme for which the fellowship holder has been selected:-Master’s degree programmes: between 12 and 24 months

-Short courses: between two weeks and twelve months

-PhD-studies: PhD studies have a maximum duration of four years.

What does it cover?

An NFP fellowship is intended to supplement the salary that you should continue to receive during the study period. The allowance is a contribution towards your costs of living, the costs of tuition fees, visas, travel, insurance and thesis research, as specified in the NFP Rules and Regulations for fellowship holders.

Selection Criteria:

The fellowships are awarded in a very competitive selection to highly motivated professionals with at least three years’ work experience who are in a position to introduce the newly-acquired skills and knowledge into their employing organisation.
