Srinagar: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) in a statement has said “the Supreme Court of India is too small a forum to seek the resolution of Kashmir issue.”

Spokesperson of DeM said Jammu and Kashmir issue is an internationally recognised dispute and only forums like the United Nation Organistaion, which has passed numerous resolutions on the issue, are the genuine forums where the resolution of this longstanding issue can be sought out.

“ The representation made by Indian advocate general, Mukul Rohatgi, on behalf of the Indian government at the SC of India on Friday exposes his ignorance about the issue of Jammu and Kashmir,” Nasreen, Dem general secretary said in a statement.

She said that after reading his (Rohatgi’s) statement one feels that only an immature person with no knowledge about this issue can talk such “nonsense.” He doesn’t know the Kashmir issue or its historical perspective,” she added.

“ This issue isn’t about stone throwing or pellets, Kashmir issue infact is an internationally acknowledged dispute since 1947 where people demand complete freedom and are struggling for their right to determine their future,” she added.

She said that Indian government’s proposal that they would talk to only “registered parties” is yet another joke and exposes India’s lack of interest in resolving this issue. “ This is known fact that the so-called ‘registered’ parties are Indian stooges who want nothing but to rule JK. These so called ‘registered’ parties were recently snubbed and rejected by the people of Kashmir when the result of the sham election process was declared,” she said.
