Strongly condemning the “custodial killing” of Sajad Ahmad Malik, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairperson, Syed Ali Geelani Friday said that “unmanned and uncontrolled” police force gets the applause from its masters to kill their own people.
In a statement issued here, Geelani said, “They have let lose the spree of blood-shed as they are encouraged by Delhi Darbar and its local faces, turning this whole place into a police state.”
Rejecting the police version of snatching the weapon, Geelani said that such dramas have been playing here for the last 30 years and police arrest the people from their houses, in broad day light or dead of the night in presence of their families, then torture them to death and throwing their bodies on road sides and hush up these incidents in the much used rather abused parroting of police encounters.
“These brutal acts have been stage-managed for decades here and perpetrators and killers are still roaming head high.”
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the government’s refusal to allow its chairperson Syed Ali Geelani to offer Friday prayers.
A Hurriyat spokesperson said that stopping an individual from performing his or her religious responsibilities is “gross violation of human rights and interference in the personnel and religious rights”.
He said that local administration is inching towards fulfillment of the long cherished goal of RSS for their petty interests and personnel gains.
“Geelani sahab is not only a political personality, but a religious preacher as well and keeping him away from people’s political, religious and social issues is ample proof of this part of land being governed by an autocratic, undemocratic and unjustified rule, where a “Mahraj” cannot afford to tolerate any voice against him.”
He said in such a scenario anybody fighting for one’s rights or justice is branded as anti-social, anti-national and a terrorist, but such arrogant and ostrich like approach can never lease these henchmen for too long and the people especially youth cannot distance themselves from their mentors.
