Following the killing of two civilians and a militant in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, intense clashes rocked Old Srinagar and Pampore areas Sunday afternoon.

Reports reaching here said that youth took to streets in Hawal area and raised anti-India slogans amid clashes with forces.

Two civilians including a young girl who was pursuing Post Graduation were killed allegedly in forces action in Lelhaar area of Pulwama after forces killed a militant in the area.

The duo civilians were identified as Shaista Hamid and Danish Rashid.

Reports reaching here from Pampore said that youth and forces engaged in main Kadlabal Chowk. “Intense clashes are going on in the area,” a local told Kashmir Life over phone, “just as the news came that two youth were killed by forces, shopkeepers brought down their shutters.”

SHO Nowhatta confirmed that clashes erupted in the area.
