The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development Thursday released scholarship in favour of 838 students from Jammu and Kashmir.

Post 2010 uprising, the Government of India had announced special scholarship scheme for students of the state to study in professional colleges across India.

“Ministry for Human Resource Development (MHRD) today released the scholarship in favour of 838 students of J&K who are pursuing professional courses in various colleges outside J&K under the UPA’s scheme of PMSSS,” a Congress leader said.

“We were forced to leave the campus for not being able to pay the requisite fees,as the scholarship wasn’t sanctioned by the government despite repeated requests, now on timely intervention of Salman Nizami we got it sanctioned. Now we can continue our studies, which was overcasted by the black clouds of injustice being done with us by the central government”, said a student of Mewar college in Uttar Pradesh.
