Ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Tuesday termed Congress rally as mere frustration and alleged the Congress is trying to cover up their grave crimes they have committed with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Protest rally of Congress is nothing but a mere frustration. They cannot cover up their crimes which they have committed against the people of Jammu and Kashmir. How can people forget that it was the Congress which hanged Afzal Guru for gaining political points,” senior PDP leader and Minister for Education Nayeem Akhtar told KNS.

He said that out of power Congress has lost the plot and “frustration has crept into its camp.” “Congress has accepted that it has no future in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country. Congress has also been left issueless and it wants to remain in the news by resorting to mere rhetoric,” he said.

Akhtar alleged only thing NC-Congress did in their tenure was promoting corruption, mis-governance and financial mess. “We welcome the opposition to point out our deficiencies but the fact is that we are in the stage where we are clearing the mess which NC-Congress has left behind including corruption, miss-governance and the liabilities of crores of rupees,” he said.

The PDP leader said the government has to deal also with large number of youth whom Congress ministers promised jobs “just for their political means.” “Everyday we receive number of youths who were promised jobs by the Congress ministers,” he claimed.

It is pertinent to mention here that state unit if Congress Tuesday took out a protest rally against the state government, saying the ruling PDP had entered into an “unholy coalition” with the BJP for power. “PDP polarized the situation before the elections and sought votes from the people on the pretext of stopping the BJP from coming to power, but now it is the PDP which brought the BJP to the secretariat. It is an unholy coalition,” Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee President Ghulam Ahmad Mir told reporters here.
