SRINAGAR

As the incessant rainfall triggers flood panic in Srinagar and other parts of valley, panicky shopkeepers of city centre Lal Chowk turned up since Sunday morning and started emptying their shops from stock.

“We don’t want to end up having the same fate as in last flood,” said one shopkeeper while yelling at his workers to pace up the emptying process.

In last floods, the shopkeepers suffered huge losses.

Pertinently, the rainfall has water-logged many parts in Lal Chowk and thus creating panic in people.

The swelling Jhelum has further worsened the fear among the people, especially in Lal Chowk.
