Flood-victims in large number thronged the medical relief camp set up by Kochi-based Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre (AIMS) in Bandipore district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the spokesman of institute, a team of 15 medical specialists including paramedics are providing critical medical care to flood victims in the worst-affected areas of the district.
Spokesman further adds that over 2,300 people have been examined and dispensed medicines at the worst affected areas including Ashtingoo Ghat, Kulhama, Laharwalpora, Sumbal-Sonawari areas.
Besides preliminary diagnosis, the spokesman said that a mobile hospital and telemedicine unit equipped with intensive care unit, ventilator, ECG, Colour Echocardigram, X-Ray Radiography, Light Microscopy with the team are providing advanced pathological support.
The medical camp, which began on October 8 will continue till October 13. The team will then shift to Magam area of District Budgam.
